L’IRL est utilisé pour l’indexation des loyers des locaux à usage d'habitation régie par la loi 89-462 du 6 juillet 89 (résidence principale vide ou meublée). Publication trimestrielle par l’INSEE. Il fixe la limite d'augmentation annuelle de loyer.
